Ben Wieg
I was born in 1982 in Halle / Saale, Germany.

After being hooked on my first lessons in photography and camera work in the late 90ies I started an apprenticeship as Media Designer in video and audio at the broadcast station MDR in Leipzig. The following two years I worked as a camera assistant and shot my first short films as director of photography.

In 2006 I started to study cinematography at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg. A scholarship from the Baden-Württemberg-Stiftung allowed me to attend the Parisian film school La Fémis for three months in 2008.

In March 2009 I was admitted as a scholar to the German scholarship foundation Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes.

Now I’m looking forward to enrich creative and innovative films visually.
